Bus Access Capacity Inner City Study

GCI undertook the Bus Access Capacity Inner City Study (BACICS) for the TransLink Transit Authority to develop medium-to-long-term strategies for bus operations and infrastructure for inner city Brisbane. BACICS identified where the network was most heavily loaded and where the potential for improving reliability and travel times was highest.

• Identified and analysed the performance of the existing (as at 2007) inner city bus-based transport system
• Identified potential inefficiencies in the future inner city bus network based on forecast public transport demand
• Identified and analysed options (operational and infrastructure-based) to overcome inefficiencies and accommodate future demand

our achievements

• The outcomes of this study have had an ongoing influence on strategic planning for bus infrastructure within inner city Brisbane, and have informed the TransLink Network Plan, the Integrated Transport and Land Use Inner City Strategy (ITALICS) and the draft Connecting SEQ 2031
